The Upper Hutt Summer Carnival is an event with Nearly 100 years of history. It was originally the Wellington A & P Show but due to the extensive change in farming patterns throughout our region, the focus of the event changed to what we know today as the Upper Hutt Summer Carnival.
It’s always been the Upper Hutt Summer Carnivals objective to provide a very affordable Family Day of Entertainment for the people of the Wellington Region. In doing so groups in the community obtain the opportunity to fund raise and promote their activities. Cultural groups obtain essential exposure to the public for their members, be it to promote their artistic talents or creative skills. Heritage based organizations display astonishing collections of equipment and property. Sporting organizations provide demonstrations and displays. Business’s promote there Industries, giving their brands and products inexpensive advertising exposure. The Carnival also gathers together one of the largest Art, Craft and Antique Fairs in the Wellington Region and without a doubt the Upper Hutt Summer Carnival hosts the largest selection of Amusement Rides presented in one venue to thrill the youthful spirit in all of us.
